The largest independent payments processor in the Ukraine is to deploy an NCR Corp. payment platform to deliver payment services across Central and Eastern Europe, the Duluth-based corporation announced May 21.
An NCR news release said that the Ukraine Processing Center will be replacing its legacy system with Authentic, the platform from Alaric, an NCR business.
The Ukraine Processing Center is a member of the Raiffeisen banking group that supports more than 30 banks in Ukraine as well as a number of international customers in Central and Eastern Europe.
The group’s services include a wide range of services such as the authorization of international and local card transactions, the support of point-of-sale terminals to the development and management of ATM networks and regional interbank clearing.
Steve Nogalo, vice president an general manager payments software at NCR, said in the release, “We understand the challenges that UPC faces across the wide and diverse region at it covers.”
But he added that NCR’s “scalable, open architecture provide the flexibility and agility that they need to respond” to developments in consumer technology trends, such as mobile banking.
