The Georgia Department of Economic Development has hired Maggie Large as a new communications specialist.
Ms. Large was a reporter with the Macon Telegraph, where she covered business, entertainment, higher education and diversity issues. She was also managing editor of Georgia Music Magazine, a quarterly magazine about Georgia’s music scene. Previously, she was a business reporter for the Fort Pierce Tribune in Florida.
Ms. Large will work with Alison Tyrer, senior communications specialist, to publicize the department’s work in global commerce and assist media outlets with daily needs.
Stefanie Paupeck will remain the department’s contact for information on the state’s tourism, film, video and music outreach.
