Stories Worth Sharing

Hey all — Merry Christmas Eve and Happy Holidays,

As we near the end of the year, I won’t belabor our recent journalism or our 2025 travel, achievements and best books, which I’ll share in our annual wrap-up, but I wanted to pop into your inbox before heading out for the break with a note of thanks, a few housekeeping items and an appeal to invest in your global future and ours.

We’ve had a big year, as I’ve laid out elsewhere, one that shows how important and far-reaching our work has become — and the importance of telling stories to help everyone understand the world, and each other, just a bit better.

Evidence of this came in my inbox this morning, when a speaker we asked to join one of the 25 events we hosted this year, a recent immigrant to the United States, wrote me a wonderfully kind note about their inclusion on stage:

That experience gave me hope and reminded me that we all have a story worth sharing. Every word we put out into the world can make an impact.

Indeed. That’s why we do what we do in the information and news space — there is so much vitriol, especially when it comes to relationships between countries or across political factions, that it’s important to remind ourselves of our shared humanity, and how stories can connect and benefit us. We at Global Atlanta celebrate this international interconnectedness. We can always debate things like trade policy and sharpen our foreign policy tools all while understanding that for better or worse, we’re in this together.

This will be the last Weekly Briefing from me in 2025, and while I’ll be working over the break on an annual report, we’ll be back in your inbox with this newsletter and The Daily News during the week of Jan. 5.

An Appeal: The Global Atlanta Passport

In the meantime, if you’d like to invest in our journalism — and your own global knowledge and networks, in 2026, the best method is to purchase a Global Atlanta Passport, our annual membership that gets you access to 25 events per year for just one low price. While this is an investment in your own future, I can’t stress how vital this community support is for our long-term sustainability and growth.

This year, we hosted 10 Consular Conversations, 3 ambassador briefings, 8 Global Forums and much more, attended by 1,500 people, including our 230+ Global Atlanta Passport members, and we’re cooking up other events to hit the ground running next year. Here are a few:

Use the code CYBER25 here through Dec. 31 to get $50 off your first year of membership (or give it as a last-minute gift that you don’t have to wrap!)

If you’ve ever found our stories helpful, it’d be a great time to be part of sustaining their telling. For the rest of this year, I’ll be pondering over our shared ATL story and preparing to tell yours in the next.

Happy Holidays,

Trevor Williams
