Companies can now register online for the 34th Annual Georgia Foreign Trade Conference, to be held at the Savannah International Trade and Convention Center Nov. 8-10.
More than 400 shippers and maritime executives from Canada, Mexico and the U.S. will attend the event, organized and sponsored by Georgia’s transportation industry, said Patricia Reese, manager of communications and external affairs at the Georgia Ports Authority in Savannah.
This year’s conference will include discussions of how e-commerce and technology-driven supply-management systems will effect the global trade industry, said Ms. Reese.
There will be sessions addressing “The Evolution of Global Markets,” featuring a panel of shippers, manufacturers and carriers who will share their views on taking advantage of future growth opportunities in international trade. One area of discussion is to be China’s impact on the world market’s supply and demand.
The business sessions are free, she said, but registrants can pay $375 for one person or $625 for two people to receive all three meals per day and attend receptions. This year, shippers and manufacturers can register for $275 for one person or $550 for two people. Several special events will be offered, including a golf tournament.
