DESCRIPTION:Join the Atlanta International Arbitration Society (“AtlAS”) for their Eleventh Annual AtlAS Conference and GAR Live Atlanta on September 12-14. This year includes an exciting line up of leading international arbitration practitioners from around the world for the first in-person conference in nearly three years. \nThe conference will kick off at 1 p.m. on September 12 at the offices of Smith Gambrell Russell (1105 West Peachtree Street) with the ICC-AtlAS Young Professionals Group Forum\, and will be followed by four different tertulia sessions with speakers from numerous countries\, and a happy hour. DESCRIPTION:The Atlanta International Arbitration Society (AtlAS) and Emory University Law School invite you to attend the Seventh Annual AtlAS Hybrid Lecture on the evening of April 28th 2022. \nOur Speaker this year is Sternford Moyo\, President of the International Bar Association (IBA)\, Chairman and Senior Partner of one of Zimbabwe’s oldest and largest law firms\, Scanlen & Holderness. The Lecture will consider “The Importance of International Dispute Resolution Mechanisms in International Commercial Agreements”. \nIBA President Moyo is the first IBA President of African descent and is widely regarded as one of Southern Africa’s leading corporate and commercial lawyers. Mr. Moyo has held numerous senior IBA roles\, including: Council Member\, Management Board Member\, Advisory Board Member and Chair of the African Regional Forum\, Deputy Secretary-General for Southern Africa\, Co-Chair of the International Bar Association’s Human Rights Institute (IBAHRI)\, Trustee of IBA-established entities\, such as the Southern Africa Litigation Centre and eyeWitness to Atrocities\, and member of the Task Force on Illicit Financial Flows\, Poverty and Human Rights.\nThe program will feature a welcome address by Emory Law School Dean\, Mary Anne Bobinski\, and a Tribute to Emory Law Alumnus and AtlAS stalwart Bernard “Ben” Greer (Alston Bird LLP\, retired). The Lecture will be held on Emory’s beautiful campus.
