SUMMARY:The Shift Toward Electric Vehicles and Its Impact on Various Industries (Hybrid Event)
DESCRIPTION:Unlike the past three EV (electric vehicle) booms\, this time\, the EV shift goes beyond the shift to EVs by automakers and is a structural change involving many stakeholders. \nThe shift to EVs is not simply a move to replace engines with batteries and motors\, but it will cause structural changes in the automotive industry\, and the impact will spread to the materials and energy industries. It will also cause a chain reaction with autonomous driving and car-sharing and will spread to service industries such as insurance and logistics\, involving the IT industry. \nThis presentation will provide an overview of the structural changes related to the shift to EVs and report on budding initiatives to seize these changes as opportunities. \nA light lunch will be included along with your registration. We look forward to seeing you there! \nSPEAKERS\n\nHiro Ishizaki\, Partner of NRI-America\nAki Fujita\, Principal of NRI-America\n\nThis is a hybrid event. \n\n\n	From the archive:

SUMMARY:New Travel Restrictions – A Discussion with US Consular Staff
DESCRIPTION:Newly revised travel restrictions to the United States\, announced by the U.S. Department of State on March 2nd\, 2021\, may impact travelers from the Schengen Zone planning to conduct certain business operations in the U.S.  The new regulations\, aimed at limiting the spread of COVID-19\, reduce the scope of qualification for a National Interest Exception (NIE) under Presidential Proclamation (PP) 10143 as related to the Schengen Area\, United Kingdom\, and Ireland. \nTo help explain these heightened restrictions\, the German American Chambers of Commerce (AHK USA)\, together with the U.S. Embassy in Berlin\, the Association of German Chambers of Industry and Commerce (DIHK)\, and AmCham Germany\, have organized a virtual informational seminar with U.S. Consular Staff from Berlin\, Frankfurt \, and Munich. \nSubmit a Question for the Q&A Session\nSince there is an expectation that the number of participants and the volume of incoming questions will be exceptionally high\, please submit your questions upon registration for the event\, though some time for additional questions during the program may be available. \nCan’t Make it? Attend the Second Session\nIf you are unable to make it to the GACC information session on March 19\, 2021\, AmCham Germany will host a similar session on March 22\, 2021 at 10:00am CT / 16.00 MEZ. \n\n\n	From the archive:
