The links to support a good cause and to register are below.All proceeds will benefit the German American Cultural Foundation and the German School of Atlanta in Marietta and our charity event has always been able to provide substantial funding to German language programs. \n\n\n\nRegistration\, breakfast and warm-up starts at 8:00 am\, shotgun start will be at 9:00 am. As in previous years our format will be a scramble. There will be awards for the winning team (gross/net)\, longest drive and closest to the pin. Associated events include the GAC-F Octoberfest Fun Run\, entertainment\, music performances\, games\, and many more. Follow the link to see more details. \nAbout Octoberfest:  \nThe GAC Foundation first Traditional German Octoberfest follows an old tradition from Germany. It is held annually in Munich\, Bavaria\, Germany and is the world’s largest Volksfest\, featuring a beer festival and a travelling funfair. It is a 16- to 18-day folk festival running traditionally from mid- or late-September to around the first Sunday in October\, with more than six million international and national visitors attending the event. Locally\, it is called d’Wiesn\, after the colloquial name for the fairgrounds\, Theresienwiese. The Octoberfest is an important part of Bavarian culture\, having been held since the year 1810. Other cities across the world also hold Octoberfest celebrations that are modeled after the original Munich event. During the event\, large quantities of Octoberfest Beer are consumed. DESCRIPTION:The German-American Cultural Foundation (GAC-F) is excited to welcome you to the Golf Course at Bear’s Best Golf Club again this year! \nEstablished in 2008\, the non-profit German-American Cultural Foundation (GAC-F) raises funds from businesses and private individuals in the southeastern United States to strengthen transatlantic relations through language learning\, raising cultural awareness\, facilitating exchange between German-speaking countries and the United States\, and actively building relationships. \nAs the main fundraising entity for the majority of all German language and cultural organizations in the Atlanta area\, they focus their operations on: \n\ncommitting nearly all raised funds to a wide variety of German language and cultural programs\, e.g. Atlanta’s Goethe Zentrum\, the German School of Atlanta\, student exchange programs between the U.S. and Germany (especially for those talented students\, who lack the financial means) and work-readiness programs along with world language education programs for public and private elementary\, middle or high schools\, and many more initiatives and organizations\nraising cultural awareness by introducing German traditions to the community through our own fundraising events and community celebration events\ncelebrating German cultural heritage as a part of the Atlanta area cultural diversity\npromoting the benefits of cultural awareness and multilingual knowledge to present and future business leaders\nstrengthening the transatlantic relationship by advancing intercultural awareness and know-how between German-speaking countries and the United States\n\nThey know that true understanding and collaboration only happen if tomorrow’s business leaders are exposed to each other’s way of life\, background\, and thinking.
