SUMMARY:J Street Georgia End-of-Year Event with Peter Beinart
DESCRIPTION:Join for a celebration and fundraiser in support of J Street’s work\, featuring a conversation with New York Times Columnist Peter Beinart about the election\, the state of US politics and the future of US foreign policy toward Israel and the Palestinians. \nPeter inspired vigorous debate in the American Jewish community earlier this year with his essay on a Zionist imagining of a one-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. He’s also a brilliant commentator on US politics. He will offer a unique perspective to hear from in the wake of the election about what the results will mean for the future of the US-Israel relationship and the US policy toward the Middle East more broadly. \nAll ticket purchases are tax-deductible donations to J Street Education Fund. The event is free and open to the public\, donations are encouraged.  \n\n\n	From the archive:

SUMMARY:CANCELED: A Discussion with Peter Beinart
DESCRIPTION:In January\, the Trump administration brought us to the brink of a dangerous war of choice with Iran. In response\, we welcomed the passage of war powers resolutions in both the House and Senate\, which denied the president authorization to go to war with Iran without congressional approval. \nAnd just a few weeks ago\, President Trump released his Israeli-Palestinian peace sham\, giving the green light to West Bank annexation and permanent occupation. \nWe need clear-minded analysis to help us make sense of this chaotic moment in Middle East diplomacy. That’s why J Street is excited to welcome internationally-acclaimed author and political commentator Peter Beinart to Atlanta\, where he will discuss these latest developments and this critical year in Israeli and American politics. \nAn Evening with Peter Beinart \n \n  \n6:30pm: VIP reception | $150\n7:30pm: Presentation and discussion | Free \n \n\n\n	From the archive:

SUMMARY:The New Contours of US-Israeli Relations with J Street's Alan Elsner
DESCRIPTION:President Trump has ushered in a new era in Israel and the Palestinian territories with decisions such as the imminent move of the US Embassy to Jerusalem and significant cuts to the UN Refugee Organization for Palestinians. Despite this\, just last week\, President Mahmoud Abbas laid out explicit support for the two-state solution and put forward a serious proposal for how to get there before the UN Security Council. In his speech he raised the obvious question: Why are President Trump and Prime Minister Netanyahu unwilling to do the same? \nJoin J Street  at Temple Sinai to explore the new era of US-Israel relations and their implications for world affairs and our own American Jewish community with the Special Advisor to J Street’s President\, Alan Elsner\, veteran of Israel Defense Forces and former Washington Bureau Chief of Reuters. RSVP here. \n\n\n	From the archive:
