DESCRIPTION:Uplifting the Voices of Afghan Women – Fundraiser Dinner\nAfghan women and girls have been erased from Afghanistan’s streets\, they’ve been forced inside their homes in fear of the Taliban. If we do not support them now\, they may lose their voice permananetly. \nWomen represent more than half the population and all development will be impossible without their involvment or their active participation. However\, the recent horrific events in Afghanistan\, threaten the basic human rights of Afghan women. \n \nRefugees Women’s Network is hosting a fundraiser dinner to uplift the voices of refugee Afghan women in Clarkston\, GA.\nYou’re invited to come hear their stories and better connect and understand the experiences of these Afghan women. In better understanding we’re able to be better allies\, the women of Afghanistan\, the refugee Afghan women in your community need your support now more than ever. Come hear from them directly to better align your support and efforts. \n  \nConcept:\n\nRefuge Coffee in Clarkston is our generous host for this event. This event will be outdoor/indoor – but the doors will be open to be more COVID Conscious.\nIf you’d like a better understanding of their space\, please look them up on Google.\nTraditional pieces from Afghan culture will be used as decor with guided explanations to allow for a holistic cultural learning opportunity.\n\nMenu:\n\nTraditional Afghan Cuisine with the base of white rice\, saffron rice and salad. Vegetarian and Vegan options will be available. Meat options will be chicken and lamb.\nThe food will be overseen by Chefs Club\, all ServSafe certified for safe handling and served by volunteer servers. DESCRIPTION:A culinary and cultural night fundraiser for the Refugee Women’s Network.\n \nFood is a universal experience. It can make you feel at home or connected to you home when you are far away. Although you eat everyday\, you don’t always think about how food shapes culture\, life\, and relationships. Who doesn’t like a hot and fragrant home cooked meal? \nThe Refugees Women’s Network identified cooking as a common skill among the refugee community and designed an entrepreneurship development program around cooking: The Chefs Kitchen. The chefs in the program have vast knowledge of cooking age-old recipes and cooking techniques. She is from Nepal and has been a leader in the international development and nonprofit sectors for more than two decades.
