DESCRIPTION:The wonderful Ballet Folklórico de Amalia Hernández will perform at the UGA Performing Arts Center on February 4th\, 2022 at 7:30 pm. Pre-performance talk in Ramsey Concert Hall at 6:45 pm (free admission). \nFounded in 1952 by dancer and choreographer Amalia Hernández\, Ballet Folklórico brings together the vibrant music\, dance\, and costumes of Mexican folklore from pre-Colombian civilizations through the modern era. From its permanent home at the Palacio de Bellas Artes—one of Mexico City’s most historic venues—the company has developed choreography for 40 ballets\, composed of 76 folk dancers who have performed extensively across Mexico and abroad. The ensemble returns to Athens after many years with a pulsating program featuring renewed performances of the company’s beloved dance and music. \nDon’t miss the opportunity to watch this amazing show filled with Mexican color and folklore! \n\n\n	From the archive:
