DESCRIPTION:Accenture and Welcome.US are bringing hiring opportunities to the Clarkston Community Center\, connecting Afghan newcomers with the chance to restart their careers locally in Atlanta. Hiring fair participants will have the opportunity to meet with 20-30 local employers hiring for roles at a variety of skill levels\, from hourly to salaried. The hiring fair will offer robust onsite resources: resume assistance; translation services; lunch and children’s activities will be available\, all free of charge. \nApplicants will have the opportunity to meet with employers\, including: Accenture; Concord Hospitality; Delta Airlines; Extended Stay America; Genuine Parts Company; Goodwill of North Georgia; Grady Health System; Hyatt Centric Midtown Atlanta; Hyatt Regency Suites of Atlanta; IHG Hotels & Resorts; Marriott Hotels; Pilgrims and Village Park. \nOrganizers are expecting 200-300 newcomers to attend. \n  \nVisuals/Interview opportunities:  \nMoeen Amini\, recent Afghani newcomer to Atlanta (December 2021) and current Accenture employee. \nRepresentatives from Welcome.US\, Accenture and other companies hiring at the event. \nPublic officials\, including DeKalb County CEO\, Michael Thurmond\, and the Mayor of Clarkston\, Beverly Burks\, will be on hand at 11 a.m. to greet newcomers at the hiring fair. \n\n\n	From the archive:
