Bugs on the Chinese island of Hainan beware: the Orkin man is coming.
Rollins Inc., the Atlanta-based franchisor of Orkin pest control services, has put its second Chinese franchise on the island, a popular vacation destination.
Orkin will offer commercial services concentrating on the island’s many resorts.
Located between the South China Sea and the Gulf of Tonkin, Hainan’s tropical climate and rainforests present many pest-control challenges, said Tom Luczynski, Orkin’s vice president of U.S. and international development, in a news release.
Orkin’s partner in Hainan is Wu Wentao, who also owns pharmaceutical companies, according to the release. New franchise employees came to the U.S. headquarters in northAtlanta for training.
The China franchise is Orkin’s 20th overseas. Its first Chinese franchise was established in Shanghai last March.
