Atlanta-based Porsche Cars North America Inc. has named a new chief operating officer after its current COO was promoted to CEO of the German auto maker’s Australian unit.
Joe Lawrence, who has been CEO of Porsche Cars Canada since 2009, will become executive vice president and COO in Atlanta, while Michael Bartsch will leave Atlanta to return to his native Australia after a seven-year tenure as North American COO that culminated in record sales last year.
The moves are part of a larger shakeup of Porsche’s worldwide operating structure in key markets also including Latin America, China and the Middle East.
