SED International Holdings Inc., a Lawrenceville-based computer and electronics distributor with operations across the Americas, has named a new president and CEO.

Robert G. O’Malley, a former Tech Data and IBM executive, took up the new post on Oct. 15, also becoming a member of the board of directors.

Mr. O’Malley will be tasked with the returning the company to strong growth after a slow year.

Revenues for the fiscal year ended June 30 were down about 3 percent to $577.3 million from $607 million during fiscal year 2011. Profit for fiscal 2012 nearly halved to $1.4 million from $3.1 million during the previous fiscal year, according the company’s most recent financial results.
