Xpansion Lab, a new Atlanta-based site selection and economic development company that electronically assists firms in finding new locations, will be extending its services to include Canada by providing demographic and economic data on its Web site and in its print publications.
After developing its Canadian data, the company plans to include Mexico and countries outside of North America, said Robert Pittman, the new head of Xpansion Lab’s international division.
Xpansion Lab was created last month from a merger of American Community Network, an online site selection and economic development company, and Birmingham-based Vulcan Publications. Vulcan publishes thirty trade publication titles including U.S. Site Selection, a relocation and expansion magazine.
Mr. Pittman, formerly of the Atlanta office of Lockwood Greene Consulting, will help develop Xpansion Lab’s interactive computer system that matches companies with new locations and its print publications to include international data.
He plans to include information on international joint venture, merger and acquisition opportunities, as well as leads on finding facilities overseas.
The company’s Web site is located at http://www.xpansionlab.com and should be operational this week.
The Web site for American Community Network is located at http://www.acn.net
