A German software firm with its Americas headquarters in Atlanta has set up a new joint venture to serve the Chilean market.

INFORM Software, based in Aachen, Germany, created the new entity in partnership with its former reseller in the South American market, Workforce Solutions spA.

The terms of the deal were not disclosed, but INFORM plans to acquire shares in the new venture, Santiago-headquartered INFORM Software SpA, with the remainder being held by former Workforce Solutions employees including CEO Federico dos Reis.

“Together, we will be in a more strategic position to help companies in this market make better decisions and operate more efficiently through the implementation of software based on artificial intelligence,” Mr. dos Reis said in a news release.

INFORM’s decision-making software is used to combat financial fraud and manage processes at airlines, logistics providers and automakers. The deal is expected to streamline the company’s Latin America expansion, though it will continue to work with reseller partners in Colombia and Brazil.

INFORM’s current clients include Volkswagen Mexico, LATAM Airlines, Zurich Insurance Argentina, Brazilian retailer Via Varejo and Chilean Mercedes-Benz importer Kaufmann.

“We see the Latin American countries as a strategically important growth market in which we are happy to invest,” said Andreas Meyer, CEO of INFORM GmbH, in a statement. “As we move forward with this joint venture, we will expand personnel resources for sales, project delivery and customer support. It will enable us to enhance our service to our customers in Latin America and further expand our market position.”
