A wide range of South African business leaders will meet with Georgia companies at the South African Branding Trade and Investment Event USA next week to explore trade and investment opportunities, said John Hammond, chairman and CEO of the Atlanta-based South African American Business Association.

Sixteen South African companies, as well as ambassadors and trade officials, will network with regional companies June 17-19 at the Grand Hyatt Atlanta in Buckhead. The event is being held earlier in Chicago and New York.

“It is an opportunity for South Africans to talk with companies in the Southeast and for investors here to see what the opportunities are in South Africa,” said Mr Hammond. “SAABA has committed to making two to three appointments for each of the 16 South African companies participating.”

According to Mr. Hammond the businesses participating range from information technology businesses and mining companies to hair care product companies and agribusinesses.

More than 900 U.S. companies are currently doing business in South Africa, with the U.S. being the largest foreign investor, said Mr. Hammond.

Business leaders are invited to participate in the event, which includes an opening and closing reception, investment program, luncheon and concert. There is no cost to attend this event.
