Ten companies from the province of Quebec will be exhibiting at the Southern Building Show to be held June 3-5 at the Cobb Galleria Center, marking the first time that a delegation from the province has participated. The annual show is expected to draw more than 7,000 architects, builders, designers and distributors from throughout the South.
“Quebec is a center of excellence in the field of building material and wood processing and the Southeast housing market is growing rapidly so it is logical for the Quebec companies to exhibit,” Louise Fortin told GlobalFax last week.
Besides high standards of workmanship, she pointed to the abundance of readily available quality raw materials, the strategic location of the province across the border and a strong U.S. dollar vis-‡-vis the Canadian dollar as providing Quebec’s companies with competitive advantages.
Ms. Fortin is one of two international trade managers representing the province in Atlanta.
Among the companies to be represented is Alpha Vision, which has developed a virtual reality sales tool and enables the builder to construct fewer model homes for display.
Other companies to attend include Benor, which makes ready-to-assemble (PVC) railing and fencing; Concept 21, a manufacturer of fireplace mantels in various hardwoods as well as customized stairs;
Drolet Stoves and Fireplaces, which makes woodburning stoves approved by the Environmental Protection Agency and propane or natural gas burning fireplaces; Fermco, a manufacturer of floor systems, wall panels and roof trusses; GAFF, a manufacturer of aluminum and glass architectural structures used in commercial, industrial and institutional applications;
Multigon Homes, which makes pre-engineered vacation and permanent residences, Option Kit, manufacturer of kitchen cabinets; PLC Wood Components, which makes roof trusses and prefabricated wall panels, and Visifib, manufacturer of fiberglass patio doors.
