George Novak, the Czech Republic’s honorary consul general in Atlanta, is to lead a trade mission of local businesspeople to the Central European country Oct. 13-20.

The weeklong trip is designed to connect Atlanta-based companies with their Czech counterparts involved in the fields of bio and information technology, supply chain logistics, venture capital and medical devices.

The trip will include a three-night stay in a five-star hotel in Prague, the political and commercial capital of the Czech Republic, and a tour of Brno, the country’s second-largest city and hub for biotech and IT, according to the trip’s itinerary.

Members of the delegation are to attend the International Fair for Medical Technology, Rehabilitation and Healthcare in Brno, which, according to Mr. Novak, is annually the second largest medical technologies and health care products conference in the world.

More than 250 exhibitors from the U.S., China, Italy, Hungary, South Korea and India are scheduled to attend tne conference who are to be available to participate in one-one, business-to-business meetings.

The Czech-North American Chamber of Commerce and the Georgia Department of Economic Development are sponsors of the trip.
