Central America Webinar Series Part 1: “Doing Business in Costa Rica”

The Central America Region as a whole represents a market of about 46 million people who collectively imported over $29.6 billion of U.S. goods in 2017.  As a result, the region is the 3rd largest export market for U.S. manufactured goods in Latin America behind only Mexico and Brazil. The six-part “Doing Business in Central America” Webinar Series will provide valuable insights to new and experienced exporters who will gain knowledge of the export opportunities in this dynamic region.

Why EXPORT to Costa Rica?

Costa Rica is known for its political stability, growing business climate and strong conections to the United States. The country’s aspiration to become and OECD member, coupled with the upcoming completion of a world-class Atlantic Coast container port, will create addtioneal trade opportunities. Costa Rica is also planning to invest over $ 2 B in upcoming infrastructure projects within the rail, airport and transportation sectors.

The United States remains Costa Rica’s largest trading partner and Costa Rica’s largest foreign direct investor. Costa Rica’s stable government, democratic traditions, and commercial promotion efforts have made it a leader in the region for international business and tourism, and the number of international companies investing in Costa Rica continues to increase.
