Columbus-based payment services firm TSYS has filled new positions created to help the company to better serve new clients in Germany.

This year, TSYS has won contracts to provide back-office merchant acceptance services throughout Europe for Frankfurt-based B+S Card Service and to offer a variety of products and services for clients of Degussa Bank, also based in Frankfurt.

Troy Alvarez has been appointed director of relationship management for B+S Card Service. The fluent German speaker comes from a U.S. position with TSYS Acquiring Solutions, another branch of the company.

Beate Bader has been named account manager working with Degussa Bank. Ms. Bader formerly worked with Atos Worldline Processing, a Germany-based firm.

“As TSYS continues to expand in Germany and sign new clients, it is important to have an in-market presence,” said Bob Evans, group executive of TSYS International, in a news release.

Last year TSYS appointed Norbert Bernecker to handle its relationship with Deutsche Bank, with which TSYS formally entered into a long-term payment processing agreement in January 2009.
