Columbus-based Total System Services Inc., or TSYS, has announced the signing of a licensing agreement to provide the latest version of its card and merchant management solution to the Commercial Bank of Qatar with which it has had a 20-year partnership.
TSYS provides the Qatar-based bank with its single-platform solution to manage its MasterCard and Diners Club card portfolios, point-of-sale networks and loyalty, collections and fraud prevention operations.
It first provided its licensing solution to manage the issuing and acquiring of its card programs to Commercial Bank in 1982.
“TSYS is proud of it long association with Commercial Bank, and congratulates the bank on its success through the years of providing payments excellence and for having a strong presence in the Middle Eastern market,” said Jaffar Agha-Jaffar, managing director of Africa and the Middle East, TSYS, in a news release.
According to the release, Commercial Bank has total assets of $29.9 billion (QR 76.4 billion) and provides exclusive Diners Club franchises in Qatar and Oman.
The bank also has strategic partnerships with its associated bank, the National Bank of Oman in Oman and United Arab Bank in the United Arab Emirates.
TSYS maintains a regional office in Dubai with a technical support team serving international and local banks. It has licensing agreements with institutions in more than 70 countries.
