Philip Lader, U.S. ambassador to the United Kingdom, will be the featured speaker at a luncheon beginning at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, March 23, at the 103 West restaurant in Buckhead.
Prior to his appointment as ambassador in September, 1997, Mr. Lader had served in President Clinton’s cabinet as administrator of the U.S. Small Business Administration and previously was White House deputy chief of staff and assistant to the president.
Before entering government service, Mr. Lader had been president of Sea Pines Co., executive vice president of the late Sir James Goldsmith’s U.S. holding company, and the president of universities in South Carolina and Australia. He founded Renaissance Weekends, the family retreats for innovative leaders, in 1981.
The luncheon is sponsored by the British American Business Group (BABG) in conjunction with the Sunbelt U.S. Export Assistance Center, the Georgia Department of Industry, Trade and Tourism and the Business Council for International Understanding.
The cost of the luncheon is $30 per person. Corporate tables of 10 are available for $300.
