UPS has launched a variety of initiatives to help small companies export.

Atlanta-based United Parcel Service Inc. is accepting nominations for its new Growth Through Global Trade Award which will recognize a U.S.-based small- or medium-sized business that is effectively exporting to global markets.

Nominations will be accepted through Nov. 12 with the winner announced in January. Anyone may nominate a company by answering six questions and submitting a 200-word essay at http://international.ups.com/globaltradeaward/nominate/index.html

Nominees must have fewer than 500 employees and must currently be exporting to at least one international market. Entries will be judged by a panel of small business and global trade experts both within UPS and outside the company. The winner will get a plaque and a feature story in World Trade 100 magazine.
