DESCRIPTION:Hosted by the Alliance Française\, the Career Fair will once again bring together the Belgian\, Swiss\, French\, and Canadian business communities of Atlanta\, creating a dynamic space for exchange between companies and the wider French-speaking community. \n\n\n\nThe event is open to all\, including students of French\, young professionals\, and individuals currently in a career transition who are interested in exploring opportunities connected to the Francophone business ecosystem. \n\n\n\nParticipation is free of charge. Companies are welcome to bring a banner or display\, as well as giveaways or promotional items. While the event will begin with brief introductory remarks\, the focus is on informal discussions\, networking\, and meaningful connections. \n\n\n\nFor companies\, this is a great opportunity to meet potential future interns or employees as your organization grows. This French fiction short film\, which won the César Award for Best Fiction Short Film\, is produced by Topshot Films and Les Films du Worso. \n\n\n\nLe temps des orages | Québec | Directed by Gabrielle Gingras | 2023 | 12min | In French\, with English subtitles. \n\n\n\nSynopsis: Gabrielle\, an imaginative but cautious child\, spends the summer at the cottage with her family. While her brother and sisters enjoy the last swims of the summer\, the youngest stays indoors with her dog and many toys\, too afraid of the sun and thunderstorms. In spite of herself\, Gabrielle finds herself exposed to the elements. DESCRIPTION:Join Villa Albertine and Alliance Française Atlanta for a screening of the documentary “Claude McKay: Wandering the World”\, directed by Matthieu Verdeil. \n\n\n\nAt the crossroads of Black literary consciousness and political struggle\, Claude McKay helped lay the groundwork for major literary movements\, including Negritude. A politically committed poet with a bohemian spirit\, he moved through New York’s literary circles\, Parisian salons\, Soviet intellectual life\, and Black diasporic communities in places like Marseille\, forging connections with figures such as W.E.B. Du Bois and Leon Trotsky. Shaped by these global encounters\, McKay developed a radical philosophy that anticipated its time.
