DESCRIPTION:Indian Professionals Network invites you to a presentation on “Time & Tide Wait for None: Engaged Professionalism” By Nazeera Dawood \nNazeera Dawood is currently the President of Nazeera LLC. Nazeera is the former Chief of Staff for the Office of the Chairman\, Fulton County Board of Commissioners. She received her medical doctor degree from Bangalore University in India and master’s degree in public health from the University of North Carolina\, Chapel Hill. Nazeera worked as a research project manager at Emory University for over 5 years and was recognized as the 2010-2011 ‘We are Emory\, 100 Community Builders’. She is currently the president for the South Asian Public Health Association (SAPHA)\, an adjunct professor at Morehouse School of Medicine and is the founder of the Health Promotion Action Coalition organization. She has previously served on the Fulton County Schools Health Advisory Board. \nOct 1\, 2014 was proclaimed as ‘Dr. Nazeera Dawood Appreciation Day’ sponsored by Fulton Board of Commissioners. She is a Johns Creek resident and a graduate of Leadership Johns Creek and Johns Creek Community Police Academy. \nNazeera will provide us with an overview of how we can integrate humanity into everyday practice.\nShe will help to identify ways to connect community/public service and advocacy with professional work. She will discuss the leadership skills as well as the social and individual knowledge that professionals have. DESCRIPTION:An engineer turned behavioral scientist\, Dr. Krishnamurthy Iyer’s career of 43 years spans Operations for 16 years and HR for 27 years in organizations such as Crompton Greaves Ltd. and Mahindra and Mahindra Ltd. Dr. Iyer is a B.E. (Mech) & MIE (Elec) by qualification\, however his passion for people development made him embrace Personnel Management & later HR. After contributing as GM-HR for four plants and a brief stint in internal communications\, Dr. Iyer retired as the Sr. General Manager for Learning and Organizational Development from Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. Dr. Iyer got his PhD in Human Resources and Change Management from BITS-Pilani in 1998. \nTransactional Analysis is a tool to understand “why a person behaves the way he or she behaves” based on Eric Berne’s work that one’s behavior and social relationships reflect an interplay between parental (critical and nurturing)\, adult (rational)\, and child (natural\, adapted\, little professor and rebel) ‘ego’ states of personality. \nIn this program\, one can expect:\n1. Effective Communication through awareness of one’s own ‘ego’ states.\n2. Enhanced Ability to manage one’s own as well as others’ behaviors\n3.
