Bach’s Orchestral Suite No. 3 in D. \n\n\n\nG.F. Handel’s exhilarating Zadok the Priest opens the program. Composed for King George II and his consort Queen Caroline in 1727\, this immensely popular anthem has been performed at every subsequent English monarch’s coronation\, including that of the newly crowned King Charles III. \n\n\n\nJoining for this concert are The Cathedral of St. Philip Choirs and the Cathedral’s superb organist\, Assistant Choirmaster\, and international soloist\, Caroline Robinson. Caroline’s sublime artistry will be on full display in Handel’s Organ Concerto Op. 4 No. 2 in B-flat Major. Proceeds support the Cathedral Choir’s 2024 England residencies at St. Paul’s Cathedral\, London\, and York Minster. The concert is made possible by the beneficence of the late Dr. Emile T. Bach’s most celebratory works. Prepare for a dazzling display of solos and choruses enhanced by a colorful array of instruments including trumpets\, timpani\, woodwinds and strings.
