The World Affairs Council of Atlanta on May 21 will host a summit highlighting the U.S. role in water and global health issues.

Legislators and representatives from top non-governmental organizations, companies and major Atlanta-based health institutions will attend the all-day event.

U.S. Sen. Johnny Isakson will deliver the keynote speech, after which a series of panel discussions will look at issues like sanitation and health-care partnerships.

Notable speakers include Thomas Frieden, director of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention; Mark Rosenberg, president and CEO of the Task Force for Global Health and Helene Gayle, president and CEO of CARE, among many others.

The event is hosted in partnership with CARE and the Center for Strategic and International Studies, a Washington think tank.
