Argentus Imports: Atlanta Trunk Show With Silver and Textiles

Argentus Imports is a new company based in Birmingham, Ala., that offers hand-made alpaca silver serving pieces and specialty Andean textiles from the elegant Argentine estancia homes in the US market.

Inspired by traditional wedding gifts in Salta, the collections are custom designed and made with care by the finest artisans in Northern Argentina using centuries-old techniques. Northwest Argentina is famous for its artisan culture, and a large number of residents are employed in making traditional alpaca silver pieces, including the stunning pitchers and trays adorned with horn and bone finishes that are offered by Argentus Imports.

The company’s founder previously worked in the international economic development community in Alabama and first went to Argentina on a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship. She later returned to pursue her PhD and after her 2016 wedding in Salta, she saw an opportunity to offer the unique treasures she received as traditional wedding gifts to the US market while supporting economic development in the poorest region of Argentina.
