The Marriott hotel anchoring a major development near the Atlanta airport edged out nearly 400 other franchises in the Americas as the chain’s hotel of the year for 2012.
The Atlanta Airport Marriott Gateway is part of College Park’s mixed-use Gateway Center, which sits adjacent to the Georgia International Convention Center. It’s also next to stop on the ATL SkyTrain, which runs over Interstate 85 to connect the airport with its rental car facility.
The hotel ranked No. 5 out of all Marriott franchises in the Western Hemisphere for guest satisfaction, with soundproof rooms and a service escorting some guests from the train station to the hotel, according to a news release.
