Robert West, international business attorney, has joined the Atlanta office of Miami-based Greenberg Traurig LLP to focus on Latin American transactions.

Mr. West, now a shareholder with his new firm, was formerly an attorney with Womble Carlyle Sandridge & Rice LLP in Atlanta.

Fluent in Portuguese, Spanish and French, Mr. West represents domestic and international companies and individuals in cross-border transactions throughout Latin America, Europe and Asia.

He assists clients with market entry, strategic alliances and joint ventures, inbound and outbound investment, international mergers and acquisitions, sales and distribution of goods, global sales contracting and procurement strategies, enforceability of international agreements, global protection and licensing of intellectual property, import and export of goods and U.S. export controls and international privacy compliance.

Mr. West is a member of the Georgia Tech Center for International Business Education and Research advisory council, the Hemisphere Inc. advisory council, the Inter-American Bar Association, Brazilian-American Chamber of Commerce Georgia board of directors and the Brazil-U.S. Business Council.

Transferring along with Mr. West from Womble Carlyle to Greenberg Traurig is Guillermo N. Wasserman, an Argentine attorney who deals in corporate and international law.

Mr. Wasserman assists clients with joint ventures, mergers and acquisitions, general corporate matters, technology transfers, cross-border licensing, the international sale and distribution of goods and data privacy worldwide compliance.

His prior practice in Argentina was focused on international business transactions in Latin America, particularly in Argentina and Brazil, with emphasis in general corporate matters, intellectual property, venture capital, electronic commerce and alternative dispute resolution.

Mr. Wasserman serves as president of the Northwestern University Law Alumni Society’s Atlanta Section. He is licensed to practice law in Argentina but not licensed in any U.S. jurisdiction.

He is fluent in English, Spanish, and Portuguese.
