Hootsuite says that its 18 million customers include 80 percent of the Fortune 1000. The software provides a single dashboard to manage multiple social media platforms.

Canadian social-media software company Hootsuite is set to add an Atlanta office, hiring 60 people as part of an expansion into the city’s growing tech hub.

Based in Vancouver, British Columbia, HootSuite says it has more than 18 million customers, including 80 percent of the Fortune 1000, using its collaboration and scheduling tools, which help social-media managers view and engage with multiple platforms in one dashboard.

The newest Hootsuite “nest” — the owl-themed firm’s name for its 15 global offices — will open in February in the WeWork flexible office space at the Georgia Tech Coda building in Midtown’s Tech Square. The company aims to bring on 60 people in Atlanta by the end of 2022.

Hootsuite CEO Tom Keiser said the company will recruit heavily from local universities in a city becoming known for its deep software-as-a-service talent pool.

Atlanta is a talent-rich city, where culture, education, innovation and tech come to thrive. We are so excited to be here,” Mr. Keiser said.

According to the Georgia Department of Economic Development, Hootsuite joins another 325 Canadian companies already operating in the state.

The only other office in the U.S. listed on the company’s website is in New York, while Hootsuite boasts locations in places like Mexico City, Rome, London, Paris, Sydney and Hamburg, Germany, among others.
