Georgia Attorney General Sam Olens was among the 75-plus officials and attendees who came out to welcome the newest Chinese member of Gwinnett County’s business community Sept. 16.
Executives from Beijing-based TravelSky, which provides scheduling and transaction software for the airline industry, held a grand opening of its research center on the 10th floor of a Duluth office tower. Mr. Olens read a proclamation welcoming them to Georgia, while County Commission Chairman Charlotte Nash and Georgia economic development officials provided remarks as well.
The company’s investment in a Gwinnett research and development facility was announced during Gov. Nathan Deal’s August 2013 trip to China.
TravelSky Vice President Yuanchang Huang said the company was drawn to Gwinnett by multiple clients who expressed satisfaction with the local business environment.
“Secondly, Atlanta is home to not only Delta but the world’s busiest passenger airport, and these were all important attributes that we took into consideration when picking Gwinnett County,” Mr. Huang said through a translator in a video news release.
TravelSky has more than 4,000 employees globally and plans to hire 30-50 people in Duluth, where it is to invest $10 million.
