Self Electronics USA President Vivian Wang, second from right, joined economic development and political leaders to celebrate the Chinese firm's expansion.

Chinese indoor LED lighting manufacturer Self Electronics USA Corp. this week opened a new facility that quadruples its warehouse, showroom and office space to 28,000 square feet and makes room for a doubling of its local workforce.

The Ningbo, China-based company set up shop in Gwinnett County in 2009 and expanded first in 2011. The latest expansion in Peachtree Corners will enable the company to bring in 10 new workers, on top of the 10 it currently employs.

“By expanding operations in Gwinnett, we are reinforcing our commitment to this community,” Vivian Wang, the company’s president, said in a video news release distributed by the Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce.

SELF, which has a subsidiary in Germany and sales offices in Paris and Shenzhen, China, designs and makes lamps, sensors, control systems, displays and other products.

Gov. Nathan Deal’s office presented the company with a proclamation recognizing the expansion. The Georgia Department of Economic Development worked with the chamber on the expansion project.
