CNN International has promoted Nick Wrenn to the newly created post of vice president of international digital services.

Mr. Wrenn, currently managing editor for Europe, the Middle East and Africa, will be responsible for editorial direction and production of CNN.com’s international edition and online video.

Tony Maddox, executive vice president and managing director of CNN International, said the position highlights the importance of these aspects of CNN’s coverage.

“Our digital services are playing an increasingly important part in the growth of CNN International and this new position ensures that they will be leveraged and incorporated into our current business appropriately,” he said.

Mr. Wrenn joined CNN in 2000 as a senior editor of CNN.com’s international edition.  He was promoted to his current managing editor post in 2003, and was responsible for all newsgathering in the region and more than 10 hours of live daily programming.
