Delta Air Lines Inc. began nonstop service to Vienna, Austria, from Atlanta MAy 21, becoming the only U.S. airline to fly that route nonstop.
The Vienna flight is one of 14 new international routes Delta expects to launch this summer as part of its international expansion from U.S. hubs.
Delta already has routes to Budapest, Hungary; Kiev, Ukraine; Moscow and Prague, Czech Republic.
The Atlanta-Vienna flight leaves Atlanta at 6:20 p.m. and arrives in Vienna at 10:05 a.m. the next day. It returns at 12:10 p.m., arriving in Atlanta at 5:20 p.m. The route runs five times weekly.
The new route also carries cargo shipments.
Other new international routes scheduled to begin this summer out of Atlanta include Dubai, United Arab Emirates on May 31 and Seoul, Korea, on June 4.
