Travelers who have frequent flyer points with both Delta Air Lines Inc. and Northwest Airlines Corp. can now join the two accounts and get 500 bonus miles for doing so.
The two carriers have merged, becoming the world’s largest airline. Now the two frequent flyer programs, Delta’s SkyMiles and Northwest’s WorldPerks, can be linked at no cost, according to a Delta news release. The accounts then become interchangeable. Points can be transferred between the two accounts.
Customers who link their accounts before March 15 get 500 bonus miles.
The accounts will remain separate until next year when the two frequent-flyer programs will be merged.
