Atlanta-based Delta Air Lines Inc. is seeking U.S. and European government approval to start twice-daily flights between London‘s Heathrow Airport and Boston, and daily flights between Heathrow and Miami.
The new Heathrow service, if approved, would begin March 27 and would be offered in cooperation with Delta joint- venture partners Air France-KLM and Alitalia.
The new flights would increase competition from Heathrow to the U.S., Delta said in a news release. SkyTeam, an airline alliance whose members include Delta, Air France-KLM and Alitalia, holds only 5 percent of Heathrow’s slots. Delta said.
