Fenner Dunlop Americas Inc., a division of United Kingdom-based Fenner Dunlop PLC, announced it will build a new 300,000-square-foot manufacturing plant in Hart County.
The Charlotte, N.C.-headquartered manufacturer of reinforced polymer industrial products is to invest $50 million in the project, which is to be located in Gateway Industrial Park. Gateway is a regional industrial park operated by the Joint Development Authority of Franklin, Hart and Stephens counties.
The new Fenner Dunlop facility will replace and expand the company’s existing operation in DeKalb County. The move is expected to retain some 150 jobs and add 30 new jobs over three years.
Fenner Dunlop manufactures rubber conveyor belts, splice materials and other services related to industrial conveyance. Its products are used in industrial processing systems, heavy equipment and electrical and mechanical equipment for industries such as mining, aggregates, wood products and recycling.
The company’s existing industrial weaving operation manufactures the core component of its industrial conveyor products.
O’Neal Inc. of Atlanta will design the new facility. Matthew Patterson of the Georgia Department of Economic Development was project manager for the location.
