6th Annual Atlanta Summit on Global Health Focus on Women and Adolescent Girls

May 8, 2017 at 8:30 am - 3:30 pm

On May 8, the World Affairs Council of Atlanta, together with CARE USA, the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) and McKinsey Social Initiative, is organizing our sixth annual Atlanta Summit on Global Health: Focus on Women and Adolescent Girls. Adolescent girls and young women in low-income countries comprise a highly vulnerable population. Their health and life chances heavily impact the future of their societies. Atlanta’s Global Health Summit will examine the issues surrounding adolescent girls and women by addressing topics such as economic inclusion, access to education and women’s empowerment. The summit also will feature the newly released report of the CSIS Task Force on Women’s and Family Health, which proposes a major U.S. initiative to expand the delivery of four proven health interventions to adolescent girls and young women. Over the last five years, this conference has become a highlight for Atlanta’s global health community. The summit will bring together diverse partners and highlight the key role that Atlanta plays as a hub for global health. Public registration opens in early April.
