96-Hour Opera Project

The Atlanta Opera invites you to experience the 96-Hour Opera Project, the centerpiece of The Atlanta Opera’s first-ever NOW Festival.
Designed for composers and librettists from historically underrecognized communities, the competition pairs creative teams to write original ten-minute operas, which they then have 96 hours to rehearse and develop with guidance from specialists in the field.
The festival culminates in a public showcase where a distinguished panel of judges selects a winning team for the Antinori Grand Prize — a $10,000 award and an Atlanta Opera commission for a new work to be produced in an upcoming season.
