September 7, 2023 at 6:00 pm
The Institute for Women’s, Gender, and Sexuality Studies of Georgia State University is thrilled to announce the event: “African Women Decolonizing History, Culture, and the Arts.” Hosting the event will be distinguished Zambian author and social activist, Mulenga Kapwepwe.
Mulenga Kapwepwe is renowned for her significant contributions to women’s history, including the co-founding of the Zambian Women’s History Museum. The focus of this event will be on digital humanities and its potential to decolonize African history, culture, and the arts. Specifically, we will be exploring the work of The Women’s History Museum, a virtual museum that has been pivotal in making indigenous African knowledge accessible to broad audiences through its online presence and in-person installations and events.
The evening will include an engaging lecture, an interview segment, and a Q&A session with Mulenga Kapwepwe.
Tickets are available for purchase here.
