Please join for an “Off the Record” conversation with Brazil Consul General Carlos De Abreu e Silva. Seating is limited to 20 attendees.
Ambassador Carlos Henrique Moojen de Abreu e Silva, a career diplomat, assumed the post of Consul General at the Consulate General of Brazil in Atlanta on December 17, 2018. He was born in the city of Rio de Janeiro and received his diploma in Economic Sciences from Center of University Education of Brasília in 1986. He also completed a Commercial Politics course at the GATT (General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade) in Geneva in 1986.
Ambassador Carlos Henrique Moojen de Abreu e Silva received his master’s degree at the Instituto Rio Branco (Brazilian Diplomatic Academy) in 2002. He wrote his thesis about “The Argentina foreign exchange dilemma and the Brazilian interests”.
From 1995 till 1997 he served as special adviser for the Minister of Finance. In 2005, he served as head of the Division of Market Access in Brazil and in 2011 as Director of the Department of United States, Canada and Inter-American Affairs, at the Ministry of External Relations. His most recent assignment abroad has been as Consul General of Brazil in Sidney, Australia from 2013-2018.
Ambassador De Abreu is no stranger to the U.S. He previously served in the early 1990s as deputy consul general in San Francisco.He has also served twice in the Brazilian Embassy in Washington, D.C., the latest from 2008-2010, as Deputy Chief of Mission.
