Book Launch: Hugographies: Rêveries de Victor Hugo sur l’alphabet

Stephanie Boulard is launching her latest book on Victor Hugo: Hugographies: Rêveries de Victor Hugo sur les lettres de l’alphabet (Hermann 2022), co-authored with Pierre Georgel, which studies the relationship between texts and drawings in Hugo’s work through the letters of the alphabet. They argue that although drawings and writings differ as media, they concoct the same mental images, ideas, affects, and pursue the same expressive aims.
