Elysee Treaty Celebration

59 years ago, French President Charles De Gaulle and German Chancellor Konrad Adenauer signed the Élysée Treaty, which laid the foundation for cooperation and friendship between France and Germany.

Join Alliance Française and Goethe-Zentrum Atlanta, the Consul Generals of France and Germany, and German and French journalists in America to reflect on elections in France and Germany, the EU, and relations with the US. The discussion will be moderated by Trevor Williams, editor of Global Atlanta.

Mr. Adrien Jaulmes is the U.S. correspondent for the French newspaper Le Figaro.

Born in Albertville, France in 1970, Mr. Jaulmes graduated from the Institut d’Études Politiques in Lyon and served in the Foreign Legion of the French Army. He started his career in journalism in 2000, when he joined the foreign desk of Le Figaro. Two years later, he received the Prix Albert Londres for his reporting on Afghanistan. In 2007, he was awarded the Bayeux Award for War Correspondents for his reporting on Iraq. During his career, he has extensively covered Iraq, Afghanistan, Israel, the Palestinian territories, Lebanon, Libya, Syria, etc. He is the author of AmerakSur Les Traces de George Orwell, and Raconter la Guerre.
