Wolfgang Niedermark will take a look at the German energy transformation (Energiewende) from a corporate stance in his talk on “Germany’s Energy & Climate Policies – Insight from a European Industry Perspective.” While German industry does not question the reality of climate change, German business interests have raised many questions about the emphasis of the current policy on renewables. With the closure of nuclear plants, Germany has introduced a time-table for the reduction of fossil fuels. Can these targets be met without damage to the economy?
