How the Payments Sector is Driving Atlanta Forward
November 17, 2015 at 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

Atlanta’s strength is in its economic diversity, but the lack of a signature industry cluster can give the impression that it doesn’t lead any one area.
The city’s Payments Processing industry shows that’s a myth. “Transaction Alley,” a newly labeled corridor of companies that move 70 percent of electronic payments in the U.S., is worth more than 30,000 jobs to Georgia and is driving growth across the city.
Midtown’s innovation hub is burgeoning with the arrival of giants like Worldpay and NCR and upstarts like ParkMobile. Payments also sits at the intersection other strategic tech sectors: mobility, cybersecurity and health care IT. This all comes at a time when the smartphone revolutionizes how payments and e-commerce work.
