Impact of 2020 Elections on Immigration & Insurance Claims

October 29, 2020 at 1:30 pm - 2:30 pm

The Japan America Society of Georgia and Barnes & Thornburg invite you to an interactive presentation for Employment/Insurance Claims and Immigration. The election may have important consequences for Employers with a global workforce, and this webinar will include discussions on the potential impact of the election and strategies in an interactive format.

Insurance Coverage: The insurance industry has “circled the wagons” and is steadfastly opposing pandemic-related insurance claims. Businesses are struggling and need the insurance they paid for – especially now with the uncertainty of an election pending. How might the COVID coverage landscape change after the election?

Immigration: On June 22, 2020 President Trump signed Proclamation 10052, temporarily suspending the entry of certain foreign nationals on nonimmigrant visas due to weaker US labor market conditions in the period following the COVID-19 outbreak; the executive order is in effect until the end of 2020. On October 5, DHS announced the “H-1B Strengthening Rule and DOL Prevailing Wage Interim Final Rules” which may further impact foreign national employees for companies.

Zoom Webinar information & log-in details will be emailed after registering before the program.
