Korean Reception & Special Film Screening of “Assassination”
May 31, 2019 at 5:00 pm - 9:00 pm

Exactly 100 years ago in the midst of Japanese colonial rule, on March 1, 1919, Korean people declared Korea (Joseon “an independent country“, and subsequently Korea‘s Provisional Government was established in Shanghai, China on April 11, 1919. In order to celebrate the centennial anniversary of the March First Independence Movement and the establishment of the Provisional Government of the Republic of Korea, the Korean Consulate in Atlanta in collaboration with the Korean community would like to invite you and a guest to a reception and special film screening at the Rialto Theatre.
A reception with performance of Korean traditional music will kick off the centennial anniversary event, followed by a screening of the Korean movie “Assassination”, one of the biggest hit films in Korea. The movie features the fictitious story of independence activists during Japanese colonial rule in the 1930s.
Please feel free to come early and mingle with other guests at the reception held on the first floor of the Rialto Theatre. There will be Korean food, drinks, and other refreshments.
