Latin American Crossroads: Panama & Global Atlanta Open House
December 4, 2017 at 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm

Panama has the “Path Between the Seas,” as one historian called it, the canal that changed the way global commerce works.
Now, those logistical connections are reverberating throughout Georgia, forcing the deepening of the Savannah port and forging new aviation and educational connections.
Join Global Atlanta and our sponsor, Emory Executive Education, for the “Linked by Logistics: Panama and Georgia,” the third event in the Latin American Crossroads series celebrating Atlanta’s role as a connecting point for the hemisphere.
Speakers/Topics:
-Georgia Tech and Panama: Marta Garcia, AVP Development for International, Georgia Tech; Ulises Nunez, Aerospace Engineering Graduate, recipient of scholarship from Panama’s president
-Jimmy Stice, CEO of Kalu Yala, on building a sustainable village in the Panama countryside
-Sean Casey, VP of RotorCorp, on exporting to Panama
-Panama Canal’s effects on Savannah port deepening
Event will be held in the community room at Studioplex on Auburn Avenue, where Global Atlanta’s offices are located. Interested parties will be able to go behind the scenes at Global Atlanta during the networking portion of the event.
Free parking can be found on the street in the surrounding neighborhoods or in unmarked spaces. Guaranteed paid parking is available in the Studioplex parking deck. More detailed directions and instructions will be sent upon registration.
